Silly Happenings

Barack Obama is planning to dance with Ellen Degeneres at the beginning of her show today.  Obama says, “I know I’m a better dancer than John McCain.” Uh, you think?  McCain is the least hip ol’ man I’ve seen since my last family reunion! 

Why Oh Why do the newspapers splash their front pages with photos of grieving parents in obvious agony over the deaths of their children?  Two of the majors ran essentially the same photo of a distraught Mother at her son’s funeral.  What does this do for anyone? How is this news? News is generally the unexpected.  Who wouldn’t expect a parent to be devastated by their child’s death?  It turns my stomach.

The air quality index that so many broadcasters have leapt all over and put on the air with relish turns out to be a dud.  An expert now says they’re not taking readings from where we breathe.  He also says Toronto never has a good air day!  That’s not what we, and many others, have been telling you, completely unaware of this fact.

Does anyone like moving?  Probably not.  My landlord is under the delusion that the next tenants of my condo can move a few things in “early”.  I’ve explained that he would have to refund some of my rent.  He doesn’t seem to understand this concept.  I’m leaving word with the concierge that if someone shows up unannounced, I’m not to be disturbed.
