Pre-Halloween Fright!

My computer died last night.  Also, I discovered that I’m an idiot .

I’m an idiot because despite having gone through a complete computer crash several years ago and enduring the pain of losing all of my data, I still did not have current back-ups of my work.  I’ve written major feature articles, columns, doodles and notes and there was a good chance that all of it was gone. Photos, documents, my financial files – everything was at risk.  That was the reality I went to bed with last night.  I made peace with it, came up with a couple of “plan b’s” and drifted off.

Today, I hired a Geek.  Not the Geeks you hear of most often – no, those Geeks weren’t able to come for a full week!  I called 24 Hour Geeks and I had a Geek at my door after my nap today.  He found the problem in minutes, cleaned up a few things, suggested a few minor changes, told me my computer was sound and running well and for a reasonable one hour fee I was back up and running and he was on his way. 

I spell relief G-E-E-K!
