Take The Car!

Finally someone captured the true essence of what it’s like when the busy subway lines shut down. 

The Yonge line was hampered from Bloor to Lawrence when some cables fell onto the tracks. It was a nightmare as thousands of commuters flooded onto Yonge street to scramble for another way around.

680′s Kevin Misener captured the essence of what really happens when shuttle buses are dispatched.  Chaos!  People squish each other in a failed bid to get one of the few seats on the buses, if they can get close to the scene at all.  Kevin caught the sound of a bus driver yelling on a megaphone: GET BACK FROM THE DOORS!  It is an absolute nightmare.  The scene from overhead on Global News looked like a charity walk at Yonge and Bloor. 

The City wants us to get out of our cars and onto transit.  Well they’re going to have to work harder to keep things like this from happening. It’s not good enough to make sure it never happens again.  It can’t happen in the first place if residents are going to develop any kind of confidence in it.
