It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like…

The holiday work schedule is up. Rogers’ trees are in the hallways and all decorated and the wreaths are on the walls between the elevators. One of the local FM radio stations is already into its “we’re the first to go all Christmas music” thing – the very thing that removed them from my preset long ago! So it’s time for my big holiday revelation: I will not be sending out Christmas cards this year.

As you’re likely aware, my life situation has changed drastically. A yuletide greeting from me and me alone might take some recipients by surprise. I don’t think that’s the way to go about spreading the news. Also, I simply don’t feel like doing it. So please consider the following to be your personal holiday greeting from me.

Dear friend/family member/acquaintance/pushy stranger:

I’d like to extend my warmest wishes for a wonderful Christmas/New Year/Hannukah/Quanza/late December to you and your family/pets/roommates/tenants/attic squirrels.

I hope this card finds you well/recovered/employed/upright/able to take in solid foods and best wishes for the coming year.
