The Fame Game

Posted By Lisa

How weird to be told this week that I was a “celebrity” during someone’s home party “name game”. Here’s how you play: when guests arrive, you put a post it on their backs with a star’s name on it. Through the evening they ask questions to try to figure out who they “are”. Funny that somebody decided that I would be a worthy entry.

As one radio guy described himself, “I’m a small c celebrity.” I know we have the most listeners in the country and I occasionally get recognized because of magazine ads but frankly, putting my name into a game alongside movie and TV stars and singers strikes me as embarrassing, flattering and just a teeny weeny bit of an overstatement!

Still, it was a kick to know that someone decided I was worthy to add into their list. It made me giggle and blush. The player did eventually guess correctly, thank goodness. I would hate to think that they’re still on the couch, glass of wine in hand asking, “Have I ever won an Academy Award?” while the host wearily answers, “For the last time, no!”
