Bad Times For Brinkley

Being beautiful doesn’t protect a person from heartbreak. Being stunningly, uniquely and nearly perfectly gorgeous isn’t a guard against having terrible things happen to you. Just ask Christie Brinkley.

The 52 year old supermodel and her husband of 10 years, Peter Cook, have just announced their separation. If the New York Daily News report is true, and they’re usually pretty close, Cook’s obsession with a now-19 year old woman is the reason behind the split.

The teen has now come forward with her lawyer to hint about a future sexual harassment lawsuit against Cook, her former boss at his architectural firm. She claims he lavished attention and money on her in exchange for a year-long sexual affair. She says she was naïve. She says he was relentless. So far, he is saying nothing.

Word is, Brinkley’s third marriage, to Billy Joel, broke up because the piano man was playing another woman’s keys. Her first marriage couldn’t survive her ride to fame. Her third husband turned out to be a charlatan. If the scandalous story about her fourth groom turns out to be confirmed, there may be no chance for reconciliation. If there’s a lawsuit, Cook could lose his livelihood or at least a very good portion of his “play” money. And beautiful Christie Brinkley will find herself having to bounce back from heartache once again.
